As the size of grids increase, monitoring resources can present a challenge. Researchers with the Gridbus Project of have responded with a new release of
grid monitoring portal software. Gridbus is a project of the Grid Computing and Distributed Systems (GRIDS) Laboratory at The University of Melbourne. The newest
version of the portal, Gridscape II, uses a component architecture for easing customization.
| The original Gridscape portal provided for monitoring grid resources. Gridscape II is a release that can
operate as standalone software or as a plug-in for existing grid software. Gridscape II consists of Gridscape Core, a shared data access library, and two primary
components. The components are the Gridscape Resource Monitor (GSRM) and the Gridscape Portal (GSP). |
|
New also in Gridscape II is integration with Google Maps. The software is available with a GPL license. It requires Java Runtime Environment or Java Developer Kit 1.4
or higher, MySQL, Jakarta Tomcat and Gridsphere Portal Framework.
